  • Condition: Very good condition, approx 8x10 inch vintage original publicity photo. It has a few scuff spots on the far left side and one on the upper right side. There is scotch tape in the upper left corner border and on the left side border and on the back. The borders are slightly trimmed. The image portion is overall fine.

    Description

    This is an original publicity photograph from an episode titled "The Prize Fighter", from the 1954-55 television series "The Defender", starring Reed Hadley.
    Davey Davis (Richard Jaeckel) is an up-and-coming young boxer, managed by Soapy Moore (Tom Brown). Moore gets involved with gangland figure B.G. Worden, who threatens Soapy if he doesn't get Davey to take a dive in a big fight. Davey gets wind of the plan and double-crosses Worden. Worden sends his girlfriend Eve to plant illegal drugs on Davey, and Davey is arrested. Public defender Bart Matthews (Reed Hadley, star of the TV series) steps in to help Davey with his case. Mary Beth Hughes and John Qualen also appear in this episode.
