This
Extra Coarse Rock Tumbling Grit
can be used prior to a regular coarse-grit stage or in lieu of a first step, depending on condition of material being tumbled.
With long-lasting durability, the extra-coarse silicon carbide grit produces dependable, premium results!
Black silicon carbide is harder than aluminum oxide ? so as it slowly breaks down into smaller particles, sharp new edges are exposed.
This superior abrasive media is compatible with high-quality rotary tumblers and possibly some vibratory tumblers.
The extra-coarse grit is well-suited for rocks having higher Mohs hardness levels, like agate, jasper and petrified wood.
It capably grinds and shapes a variety of rough rocks, smoothing out highly-blemished, sharp or cratered rock areas.

Included in each package are pre-measured, resealable zippered bags containing:
(2) 16 oz. individual bags 46/70 grit silicon carbide tumbling media.
A helpful guide is included for calculating media amounts & contains useful tips on how to achieve great tumbling results.
Each package will process up to 15 pounds of rock and may be split for use with different tumbler sizes.
This extra-coarse media can be used for continuous tough grinding, simply by adding more grit to an existing batch.
While the media already in progress continues to break down, it creates a fresh, new blend of working particles.
