    Description

This auction is for a Handmade Set of 108 Freshwater Round Pearls and 1 Guru Bead Necklace/Mala Prayer Beads approximately 36 Inches in length.   There are three spacer bead segments, made of two red beads and a one eyed Dzi bead (agate).  This is a lovely mala, handmade in Nepal.  Fresh water pearls symbolize purity, harmony and humility (pearls are also the birthstone for June).  One eyed Dzi beads are said to represent wisdom, confidence and calm.  The word "mala" is Sanskrit for "meditation garland".  The spacer beads offer the wearer a gentle reminder to bring their mind back into focus (if it wanders during practice), or to remind one of of their count during meditation/prayer. The tassel represents the connection to "Spirit", and the large bead (the 109th bead) is called the Guru bead, and represents your teacher.  Comes with a CD of "Songs of the Loving Mother" and prayer book by Chongtul Rinpoche.  The mala was created in his village.
