    Description

Condition is bright uncirculated, with some light toning - looks much better and shinier in hand than in the scans!
This impressive silver crown was issued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the reign of George V in 1935. He died in January of the following year. The coin is similar to other Great Britain crowns that feature St. George slaying a dragon on the reverse, but unlike the others, this one has a stylized art deco version of the fictional event. An incuse edge inscription reads,* DECUS ET TUTAMEN * ANNO REGNI XXV, which translates to "An ornament and a safeguard, 25th year of reign." From an old collection (mine).
