    Description

    Antique, very old cast iron, 8" original  building star. This came off a farm in Southern Wisconsin. Not a reproduction as you can see by the 2 rusted holes in the tip of one of the points of the star. These were used on farm homes that were built with "balloon " construction to keep the exterior walls from bulging out. A star was placed on each side of the home with a long rod attached and bolted to it. These are rare and very collectible plus an important part of Americana.
    Great for decor, candle base, industrial look, display or collect  NOT A REPRODUCTION!
