In 2001, to commemorate the Centenary of Queen Victoria, The Royal Mint released
a very special Limited Issue Victoria £5 Five Pound Silver Matt Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver which came as part of the Victoria Centenary Collection Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69.
The reverse has a classic portrait of the young Queen Victoria based on the Penny Black postage stamp. It has a V representing Victoria and taking the form of railway lines, with a background of the iron framework of the Crystal Palace and the denomination £5 Five Pound, dated "1901" and "2001" designed by Mary Milner-Dickens.
The obverse design is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
