BIO

Jerry Garcia was born in 1942 and died in 1995. Garcia was the lead guitarist and as a vocalist with the band which came to prominence during the counterculture era. He was well known for his distinctive guitar playing and was ranked 13th in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" cover story.
Keith Godchaux was born in 1948 and died in 1980. Keith Richard Godchaux was an American pianist best known for his tenure in the rock group the Grateful Dead from 1971 to 1979. Following their departure from the Dead, he and his wife Donna formed the Heart of Gold Band in 1980, but Godchaux died from injuries sustained in a car accident shortly after their first concert.
