1800's Brass, Lily Servant's Ringer
Beautiful condition with original chain
1800's Solid Brass, Lily Servant's Ringer.
The ringer is in beautiful condition, and is 6.5" long and 4" tall. The motion of the ringer is smooth and comes complete with the original chain. This ringer was given to a Canadian WW2 vet at the end of the war from the owner of an estate where he had been billeted. This is a typical item from upper class estates as seen in "Downton Abbey" for summoning servants to the rooms of the upper class. This ringer was a
room decor item which was connected by a series of cables and pulleys to the servant's quarters. When turned the cables would activate a bell to summon the servant.
